Cynthia Ann Crawford was born 20th February 1966. She is an American actress, model and a TV host. In the 1990s and 1980s she was a supermodel of renown, a prominent presence on magazines and runways, as well as in fashion-related campaigns. Her career later expanded to acting and business ventures. She was contacted in her sophomore year from a local clothing shop about modeling work. However, it turned out to be an ill-informed joke made by two of her peers. Crawford was hired by another store the following year to be a model for them. They also held a fashion shoot. In her senior year local photographer Roger Legel, whose duties included photographing a college student to be that week's coed in DeKalb Nite Weekly, asked to take her picture to be published in the magazine. The result was her first cover. The positive feedback and the image convinced her to start modeling. She started out working for a small agency. Elite Model Management sold her to the agency shortly after she signed. At 17 years old, she was a participant in Elite's Look of the Year contest and was able to make it to the finals at national level.
